Kicking Up Dust For Kids

Producer Benford Standley and his company Buffalo Benford Multimedia, LLC plan

to donate a percentage of the proceeds from the JR Projects LP and his Me and Merle Memoir to a non profit foundation that is now being set up to go online October of 2019.  Kicking Up Dust For Kids, Inc. (KUD4KIDS) is to be a non-profit organized to distribute funds to several national and state programs presently working to help Runaway, Throwaway, Missing and Homeless Children and Youth in the streets of these

United States of America.  We are happy to have the Roy Maas' Youth Alternatives

in San Antonio be the first recipient of a percentage of the proceeds from the Wild West

Runaway Train show at the Majestic and we are going to do all we can to send millions

of people to their website to volunteer or donate, and just know they are there on the

front lines helping children here in the city of San Antonio.  RYMA is a model program

and San Antonio and the State of Texas should look for ideas to develop in your own

cities.

SOON WE WILL BE ADDING MORE NAMES FOR SOME OF OUR  CHARITIES

that will be part of the WILD WEST RUNAWAY TRAIN MEDICINE SHOW AND

MOVING PICTURE PREVIEW NOVEMBER 17, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas.  If

you see their links just click and go to their sites and donate money or goods

Reason and tie-in to the JR Saga documentary is 1. Jimmie Rodgers was a runaway.  He

ran away from home with a medicine show at 13 years old.  2. My friend and partner Merle

Haggard began hopping freights as a boy and first time to run away he was 11, then Merle

and a friend ran away to Texas when he was 14, then spent most of his teen years running

away and escaping, in fact he had 17 escapes from California Youth Authority Detention

Centers...all leading to his being placed at the age of 21 in San Quinton Prison.

3rd. Benford has written 3 books on the state and fate of children in the US, he co-wrote

the first legislation in the state of Texas to help Runaway Kids, and was part of the creation

and marketing of the Runaway Hotline run out of the Texas Governor's office and a National

800-number offering help to runaways in the streets of the Nation.  Benford has worked with

a number of state and National organizations over the years, done countless benefits for

these kids in need, worked with some of the top people in the Nation on a Symposium he

produced on runaways and troubled youth. And he has worked with the Texas Rangers, U.S.

Justice Depart, the F.B.I., John Walsh founder of the National Ct. for Missing and Exploited

Children and is doing a rewrite on his 3rd book on the state and fate of children in the U.S.

Some Ran East...Some Ran West: They're All Running Around in the Cuckoo's Nest.

1983 Benford worked with Houston"s Senator Carlos Truan to write SCR 114, creating a

special interim committee to study the problem of homeless or runaway youths in Texas;

and directing the committee to make a complete report, including finding and recommend-

ations and drafts of any legislation deemed necessary, to the 69th Legislature and including

sexual abuse and child pornography, and helped with the Runaway Hotline back when

formed.

After Merle and Benford spent a few days filming Merle talking about the days as a troubled

and runaway youth, Benford went over and sat in the chair next to Merle's rocking chair in

his living room out on his ranch and told him about his many years working with the concerns

of these kids and working on many projects to help these kids, and how he thought it was

such an irony that me and Merle were connecting on this level.  Merle got close to Benford

looking deep and hard at him and said, "This is why we met...we can help these kids."

Ninety years ago in 1929 all seats for the grand opening of the new Majestic Theater were reserved

and ticket prices ranged from $2 to $10. Proceeds were donated to the Children’s Hospital Fund of the

San Antonio Junior League and to Ella Austin Orphans Home. In this same spirit we are working with

some entities in San Antonio that work with Runaway/Homeless/Missing Children and Youth and will

be announcing them very soon.
